Monitor One Setup

This guide will get your Particle Monitor One up and running in no time.

What you'll need​

  • The Monitor One Developer Edition kit
  • Power supply (24 V DC, 1 A – found in the box)
  • The two cables:
    • M12 8-pin (for power)
    • M12 4-pin (for I/O / expansion)
  • (Optional) Micro USB-B cable & hex wrenches (for opening the case or installing extras)
  • Your Particle account (you’ll use it to register the device)

Powering on the device​

  1. Grab the M12 8-pin cable (there are two in the box). That’s the one used for power.
  2. Use the barrel adapter: connect the 5.5×2.1 mm barrel jack from the power supply to the barrel socket on the adapter.
  3. Plug the M12 8-pin connector into the Monitor One (label up, toward the cellular SMA connector).
  4. Check polarity: if the connector is disconnected & reconnected, ensure the + terminal is red, – is black.
  5. Any adapter that’s 6-30 VDC, 2 A with a barrel plug like that works if you want to use your own.
