The Particle Monitor One is an IP67-rated, off-the-shelf gateway built for industrial monitoring and remote asset visibility. Designed to bridge the gap between rugged hardware and flexible customization, it ships as a complete system ready to connect sensors, machines, and infrastructure with reliable cellular, GNSS, and local I/O interfaces. Whether you're doing rapid prototyping or deploying in harsh field conditions, Monitor One is engineered to simplify setup, scale securely, and deliver actionable data.

Monitor One Hero

Overview

Monitor One includes the Tracker SoM internally, placed in a larger enclosure with space for expansion. It supports internal or external antennas for GNSS and cellular, has on-board lithium battery backup, multiple temperature sensors, and provides connectivity over standard industrial interfaces (like CAN, RS-485, 4-20 mA, 0-10 V). It’s equipped with rugged M12 connectors, external expansion card headers, and mounting options for bolting, strapping, or magnetic attachment. The device is made to operate from 6-30 V DC, with power via VIN or USB, and can be deployed virtually anywhere.

Out of the box, Monitor One includes a reference firmware and Quickstart guide to get your first data streaming in minutes. For custom hardware, you can leverage its expansion capabilities and open firmware.


Key Features

  • Rugged IP67 enclosure with flexible mounting (bolts, straps, magnets) and room for an expansion card.
  • Flexible power input: 6-30 V DC VIN, onboard LiPo battery backup, and external or internal antenna options.
  • Multiple industrial I/O interfaces via I/O Card: CAN bus, Modbus/RS-485, 4-20 mA input, 0-10 V input, 12-24 V slow-signal inputs, relay outputs.
  • Built-in environmental sensing: Board temperature sensors + battery temperature sensor.
  • User interface & indicators: System RGB LED, two external user RGB LEDs, waterproof user button, and visible indicators of GNSS status.
  • Internal or external antennas (cellular, GNSS) with SMA and U.FL connectors; external option requires case opening.
  • Expansion card support: Enables extra connectors and custom PCBs for application-specific expansion. Provides bottom plate M12 connectors plus flying leads.
  • Carrier and firmware integration: Includes SoM with cellular modem, GNSS, WiFi geolocation options, reference firmware, Particle cloud integration and tools.
