Tachyon comes with a powerful sub-6GHz 5G modem and a reprogrammable eSIM built in. During setup, Particle automatically installs a SIM profile on your device, allowing you to use our global connectivity services right away.
This data plan applies to the Kickstarter units and early production units on our site only!
Built-in Connectivity, No Setup Required
When you power on your Tachyon, it is already pre-provisioned with Particle's next-generation eSIM, EtherSIM+, providing connectivity in over 40 countries out of the box. No need to fiddle with SIM cards or carrier contracts.
Your Tachyon ships with:
- A sub-6GHz 5G-capable Sali modem
- A Particle-managed eSIM profile
- Pre-installed low-bandwidth connectivity for basic device management
- A Kickstarter 5G data plan option
Kickstarter 5G Data Plan
All Kickstarter units (and early store units) are eligible for a special high-bandwidth 5G data plan:
- $6.99/month (in the US) for 2GB/month
- Regional pricing varies (see table below)
- First 3 months free
- Data plan is optional and can be:
- Activated and deactivated at any time
- Reactivated later as needed
- Pay-as-you-go options for additional data
This data plan is not the only option, it's a seed offering to introduce high-speed capabilities. More plans, including native carrier options and lower-cost telemetry-focused plans, are in development.
