Display Support on Tachyon
Tachyon supports USB-C Display Port Alt Mode on the USB1 connector and can be used with USBC-HDMI hubs/adapters to connect to external monitors. Tachyon also supports DSI output via the DSI/CSI2 connector.
⚠️ Note: Currently there is no hardware display acceleration with the Ubuntu 20.04 OS release
DSI Specifications
The DSI connector has a 4 lane MIPI DSI interface.
- Up to 2.5 Gbps/lane
- 1200 x 2520 @ 144 fps
Supported Displays
Tachyon currently supports displays that incorporate the ILI9881D driver IC. Additional DSI display support will be forthcoming.
DSI Display Setup
The DSI display is only supported on the DSI/CSI2 connector. By default, the connector will output the DSI signal, so no additional configuration changes are needed. The display should be probed and detected on boot. In the Desktop Variant, the display will show as a built in screen. In the Headless Variant, it will display a wayland desktop.
